The Association began a campaign Madrid positive prevention and care of HIV / AIDS at the University of Salamanca.

Madrid Positivo Association, NGO assistance and HIV prevention, organizing a campaign to prevent HIV / AIDS in Spanish universities with the aim to sensitize youth on the importance of getting tested for HIV and promote safer sex. The first visit will be at the University of Salamanca will welcome this initiative from 20 to October 22.

Students who so wish may come, from 12.00 h. until 18.00., the Faculty of Medicine, in the Campus Miguel de Unamuno, where a medical team to offer qualified students the opportunity to perform, on an anonymous and free testing for early diagnosis of HIV in a unit mobile. In addition, health workers will give information on the HIV virus and spread among the visitors.

Numerous studies corroborate the need to increase coverage in pre sexually transmitted infections (STIs) HIV / AIDS and unwanted pregnancies, especially in younger people. Year after year, the data continue to certify that young people do not use condoms in a high percentage, and there are thousands of people with HIV are unaware of their situation.

In this regard, Madrid Positivo offers the university population to perform the rapid test and receive information on prevention of HIV and new programs for early diagnosis.

The Association promotes Positive Madrid, since 2005, an innovative program of prevention and care of HIV / AIDS, which consists of the rapid test to people who have had unprotected sex and to inform people about the virus . Through this test, at a time no longer than 20 minutes the result is known, avoiding days of anxiety and, most importantly, possible infections, getting to break the chain of transmission.

This year, Positive Madrid, in collaboration with Gilead Sciences, has developed a prevention campaign for the university population. Besides visiting the University of Salamanca, the NGO will move the next 27, 28 and October 29 at the University of Malaga, 10 and November 11 at the Complutense University of Madrid and 17 and November 18 at the University Autónoma de Madrid.
